This retired Army sergeant, wounded in Iraq in 2006, spent the last few years stationed at Fort Hood's Warrior Transition Unit. In 2008, he began bow hunting and quickly discovered that he excelled with the bow. From bow hunting, he started the sport of archery, finding it therapeutic and enjoying the challenge.
In 2010 and 2011, he represented the Army in the Warrior Games and competed in the Men's Standing Recurve Division. It was during those games that the warrior was recruited for the U.S. Paralympic Team. He garnered a coveted spot on the 2011 U. S. Paralympic Team and competed in Torino, Italy last July. Last September, he competed for a spot on the 2012 Paralympic Team to take place in London in August.
This soldier's Wish was for additional archery equipment to support his ambitious goals in archery. His sport has supported his physical and emotional rehabilitation as he has transitioned out of the Army and Hope For The Warriors® was proud to grant this Wish.
